Educational Workshops
The Ashley Doolittle Foundation is dedicated to educating communities and raising awareness about the signs, dangers, and effects of abusive relationships among teenagers. Our workshops provide teens and parents with the tools and knowledge needed to recognize and prevent dating violence.
Fraternity Education & Prevention Workshops at Colorado State University
The Ashley Doolittle Foundation is committed to upholding our mission, which includes raising awareness about teen dating violence and working to prevent relationship abuse through education and dialogue. As part of our effort to expand our reach within the community, we began engaging young college-aged men in meaningful conversations about healthy relationships, respect, and the prevention of domestic and teen dating violence.
Our work with fraternities at Colorado State University reflects that commitment and represents an important step toward fostering a culture of accountability, leadership, and respect among students.
We began our journey partnering with the Alpha Gamma Rho in April 2021, facilitating interactive workshops focused on recognizing the warning signs of unhealthy relationships, understanding the dynamics of power and control, discussing consent, and empowering members to be proactive bystanders.
Each workshop includes education on domestic violence and teen dating violence, a viewing of Escalation by the One Love Foundation, and guided small-group discussions. The film provides a powerful starting point for examining how unhealthy behaviors can escalate over time. Afterward, participants break into smaller groups to reflect on the themes presented and engage in open, thoughtful conversations about relationship dynamics, personal responsibility, and cultural influences.
A key component of our model is peer-led facilitation. Fraternity leaders volunteer to serve as small-group facilitators, helping guide discussions in a way that encourages honesty, shared experiences, and meaningful learning. This peer-to-peer approach fosters accountability within the fraternity community and empowers students to take an active role in creating a culture of respect.
Building on the success of our early chapter-level workshops, we expanded in Spring 2023 to partner with the Colorado State University Interfraternity Council to host large-scale educational workshops for the entire fraternity community. These campus-wide events have brought together 200–300 fraternity members at a time, reinforcing collective responsibility in preventing domestic and teen dating violence. In October 2025, we proudly hosted our third IFC-wide workshop and remain committed to continuing this partnership each year.
Impact & Growth
Since launching our fraternity education initiatives in 2021, we have reached nearly 1,000 college students with prevention-based education and peer-led dialogue. Each workshop represents more than attendance numbers — it represents young leaders choosing to engage in difficult but necessary conversations about respect, accountability, and healthy relationships.
We are encouraged by the continued partnership and strong participation from the fraternity community at Colorado State University. As we look ahead, the Ashley Doolittle Foundation remains committed to expanding our reach, strengthening our programming, and continuing to grow our impact so that even more students are equipped to recognize the signs of abuse, intervene safely, and help build safer campus communities.
